About The Event

Woodstock CAN is showing up together for the City of Woodstock’s State of the City address to make one thing clear: ICE does not belong in our city or our county.

This is a public civic address about the state of our community, yet residents are being asked to pay $15 just to attend. Civic transparency should be free. And local leaders should not be silent while federal immigration enforcement terrorizes communities across Georgia.

We will meet outside, near the entrance, and be visibly present as the event begins.

Schedule

  • 7:45 AM – Meet near the entrance of Woodstock City Church, 150 Ridgewalk Pkwy, Woodstock, GA

  • 8:15 AM – Mayor’s State of the City address begins inside

Tickets

If you plan to go inside, tickets are required and cost $15 for the public. Tickets can be purchased here: https://inwdstk.glueup.com/event/2026-state-of-the-city-breakfast-161295/

Why We’re Doing This

ICE activity is happening quietly across North Georgia, including Cherokee County. People are being detained without warning, families are being torn apart, and fear is spreading through neighborhoods and workplaces.

Local officials do not get to look the other way. (Also, charging residents to attend a State of the City address only reinforces the gap between who is being heard and who is not.)

What to Bring

  • Small signs (no larger than 18x24 inches)

  • No sticks or poles

  • Suggested messages:

    • “No ICE in Woodstock”

    • “No ICE in Cherokee”

    • “Keep ICE Out of Our City”

  • Wear red, white, and blue

  • Dress for the weather

This is a visible Sips & Civics action. Show up, stand together, and remind city leadership that public safety means protecting all of our neighbors and that civic spaces should be open to the public.

Meet at the entrance. Be seen. No ICE in Woodstock.
