Service Saturday with WFPeaches features an invasive plant removal project in partnership with Riverwalk Atlanta.


About Riverwalk

Riverwalk is a community-created park along the Chattahoochee, gradually restored by environmentalists and neighbors. Removing invasive plants is critical for restoring native habitats, supporting biodiversity, and protecting ecosystems.


What to Expect

  • Tasks include cutting or pulling invasive plants such as privet and wisteria, with roles ranging from heavy work to lighter cleanup.

  • Meet at 8:30 a.m. near the parking area for coffee and donuts. Instructions begin around 9 a.m., followed by group work.

  • A tour of the park will be offered mid-morning, and lunch/picnic wraps up the day around noon.


What to Bring/Wear

  • Long sleeves, pants, boots or sturdy shoes

  • Water, gloves, and sunscreen

  • Optional: bug spray, folding saw, coffee thermos, camp chair/picnic blanket


  • Facilities: No bathrooms on site; nearest Chevron station is one mile south on James Jackson Parkway.

  • Food: Coffee and donuts provided in the morning; lunch likely available at the end.
