Join Indivisible Georgia Coalition for a marshal training with Tim Franzen of American Friends Service Committee. Marshals serve as volunteers helping the host organization conduct the event and ensure the safety of participants. This 90 minute training will provide an overview of the role and responsibilities of event marshals and best practices for dealing with real-life scenarios during a protest event. These responsibilities include:
Safety and Order: Marshals keep an eye out for potential hazards or disruptions, and make sure that participants and attendees follow event guidelines.
Communication: Event marshals serve as a point of contact between event organizers and attendees.
Direction and Flow: marshals may help direct traffic or guide participants along a route.
Identifying and Addressing Issues: Marshals stay alert for any potential problems
This training will provide you with the resources and information you need to serve as a protest marshal in the No Kings events on October 18 and beyond.
