Indivisible Georgia Coalition Medics Training

Protest medic training opportunities are being offered through the Indivisible Georgia Coalition. These trainings prepare volunteers to help keep protesters safe and healthy during actions.

The coalition is still building out its medic team and training capacity, but they want people trained and ready for the October 18 No Kings events. Even experienced medical professionals are asked to complete at least some of this training before volunteering. Participants should register for just one of the scheduled dates. For safety, volunteers need to be either a member of a Georgia Indivisible group or personally known to someone leading the medic team.

The trainings are led by experienced emergency medical professionals. Attendees will have the option to purchase Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) at cost for use during protest support.

It’s also recommended that medics hold certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED use, which can be obtained separately through the American Red Cross.

The long-term goal is to build a network of trained protest medics from Georgia Indivisible groups and partner organizations. Volunteers of all backgrounds and levels of experience are welcome, as long as they train to the standard of competence set by the medic team, work cooperatively, respect safety, and commit to non-violent principles while supporting protest actions.
