These meetings decide what happens in our community—from zoning and development to public safety, housing, and library funding. If we don’t show up, others get to shape those decisions without us.

Indivisible Woodstock CAN attends City Council meetings to stay informed, hold leaders accountable, and ensure all residents—not just the loudest voices—are represented.

You don’t have to speak, but if you want to, arrive early to sign up for public comment. It usually happens near the beginning of the meeting.

🏛️ Woodstock Planning Commission Meetings – Included in the City Calendar, but NOT City Council Planning Commission meetings are included in the city’s public meeting calendar, right alongside City Council—but don’t get confused: they are a separate body, and they matter a lot.

These are the meetings where zoning decisions, development proposals, and variance requests are first heard. If we don’t show up here, developers get a clear runway. By the time something hits City Council, it’s often too late to stop or change it.

📆 Upcoming Planning Commission Meetings (7:00 PM at Chambers at City Center):

  • Thursday, August 7, 2025

  • Thursday, September 4, 2025

  • Thursday, October 2, 2025

  • Thursday, November 6, 2025

  • Thursday, December 4, 2025

🧭 Planning Commission vs. City Council

  • Purpose: Planning Commission reviews zoning and development. City Council votes on final approval.

  • Power: Planning Commission is advisory. City Council makes the call.

  • Who Attends: Developers always show up to Planning. Residents usually don’t—and that’s a problem.

  • Why It Matters: Planning Commission is your best shot to stop bad development or push for better outcomes. If we wait until City Council, the fight’s already halfway lost.
