About The Event
Are you signed up to serve as a Counter-Protester De-Escalator for our April 19 protest? This short but critical 30-minute virtual training will prepare you to recognize, respond to, and help de-escalate interactions with agitators and counter-protesters.
As a De-Escalator, you’ll play a key role in keeping our protest safe and focused:
🔸 Monitoring for signs of agitation or confrontation
🔸 Creating calm, non-engaging barriers between participants and agitators
🔸 Supporting trained safety leads in de-escalation tactics
🔸 Communicating quickly and effectively with marshals and organizers
🔸 Reinforcing peaceful protest values through presence and tone
We’ll review de-escalation best practices, what to expect on April 19, your responsibilities during the action, and how to coordinate with the broader safety team. There will also be time for questions and shared strategies.
Whether this is your first time in this role or you're returning with experience, this training will ensure you’re equipped and confident to support our movement and protect our people.
This training is required for all volunteers serving as Counter-Protester De-Escalators on April 19.
Thank you for helping keep our protest peaceful, powerful, and focused on freedom!
